More showers headed for Metro Detroit — Here’s when to expect them

DETROIT – Here’s your 4Warn Weather forecast for Monday evening and beyond.

  • Rain hanging around a bit longer

  • Pesky low pressure system nearby is keeping clouds and a few showers around through Tuesday.

  • Not a wash-out, but scattered showers around with some gusty winds near 25mph.

  • A stray shower can’t be ruled out Wednesday, but we’re looking to start to dry things out at that time.

Warming trend most of this week

  • We’re in the 50s tomorrow, but by Saturday, we’re back to near 70 degrees.

  • We’ll hang in the 70s early next week as what’s left of Ian moves up along the east coast. At this point it looks to miss us and as a result keeps things fairly quiet around here.

Tracking Ian

  • Still on track to impact Florida later this week.

  • Forecast has this storm reaching major hurricane (cat 3+) status by Tuesday morning, but it continues to strengthen into a Cat 4 by Tuesday evening.

  • Latest forecast has it making landfall Thursday as a category 2 just north of Tampa.

  • From there the storm weakens and moves into Georgia by Saturday.

Normally high back to 70 degrees

  • Our normal high is back to 70 degrees tomorrow (Tuesday). This number continues to drop through late January.

Average last 80 degree day

  • The average date of our last 80-degree day is Friday (Sept. 30).
