Sun standing by with another soaker soon

The last bits of moisture from that Tuesday mess are getting squeezed out of the clouds over Metro Detroit early this Wednesday morning. Happy Hump Day and May the 4th be with you! Spotty showers fade by 4-5 am but the lingering clouds will be around as you head out and well past sunrise before we bust into some sunshine. Temperatures are in the middle 40s and the streets are drying out nicely making for a mild morning drive and only a few slick spots as you head out and about. We would likely see some patchy fog but the breeze is picking up enough mixing the air and preventing fog from forming and limiting our visibility. All signs are pointing to a pretty nice day ahead here for all of SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario.

Sunrise is at 6:25 am

Morning clouds will begin to lift and decrease through the late morning and we should see more and more sunshine hour by hour as get through lunch today and into the early afternoon. Eventually our skies become mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 60s and a decent breeze NNE 7-15 gusting 20-25mph from time to time and that cooler breeze from the Big Lakes will keep our temps in check today and will keep us from Even flirting with 70 degrees today. Fear not, we have some warmer weather ahead just in time for all of our Moms out there. Today may become the pick day of the week to get outside and have some fun or get some work done although our Cinco De Mayo forecast is more bueno than mal.

Sunset is at 8:36 pm

Thursday is Cinco De Mayo and we are in pretty good shape most of the day with some rain possible late, late Thursday night. Some early morning clearing will allow temps to dip down near 40 degrees with some upper 30s possible in the suburbs of Metro Detroit. Then, sun and wispy high clouds blend in the morning with more afternoon clouds filling in ahead of our next rain maker. We should see highs in the low to mid 60s again with sunshine being the big variable to how we warm, meaning milky sunshine may hang on allowing our temps to hit mid to upper 60s. We cannot bank on that as all computer model data leads to increasing and thickening clouds but dry all day Thursday.

Friday morning will be the beginning of our next wet weather stint here in Metro Detroit. The air stays mild and there is no cold air mixing in with anything frozen or funky. No, it’s rounds of rain on Friday starting in the early morning. We likely won’t bust out of the mid and upper 50s for highs due to the clouds and showers which will become more numerous in the afternoon with a few rumbles of thunder and lightning likely. We have no threat for severe weather at this point but it will hinder our ability to get outside and enjoy this Friday afternoon and evening. Showers will linger into the overnight into Saturday morning before the skies begin to settle and clear.

Saturday starts with some showers and cloudy skies with dryer conditions moving in by the afternoon with highs in the lower 60s. Sunday is Mother’s Day and it looks fabulous! We will see a good deal of sunshine with temps 65-70F all afternoon allowing you to do some planting or yard work for mom. Monday will be well into the 70s, and Tuesday may be our first 80F day in a while but we also have a chance for scattered showers and storms… stay tuned.
