LANSING, MI – A Grand Rapids man plans a vacation to Europe after winning a $ 100,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery Fantasy 5 game. Kenneth Bledsoe, 55, matched all five numbers drawn – 05/27 – 33.34 – in the July 22nd draw to win his prize.
Bledsoe told lottery officials that he might not have won if he hadn’t decided to try something different with his tickets before the draw.
“I play Fantasy 5 a lot and I usually play a certain series of numbers, but this time I decided against it,” said Bledsoe. “When I got my ticket I saw that one of the easy pick lines had four of the five numbers I normally play, so I had a good feeling.
“The day after the drawing, I scanned my ticket in the lottery app and found that I had won. I could not believe it. I ran downstairs as fast as I could to tell my fiance. She thought by the expression on my face that something bad had happened until I told her I won the lottery! “
Bledsoe bought his winning ticket at the Meijer store at 700 West Norton Avenue in Muskegon. While he didn’t say what he plans to do with the rest of the money, Bledsoe said the big win was special to him.
“Winning is an indescribable feeling. It’s amazing, ”said Bledsoe.
