32-year-old Copemish woman dies after weekend crash

A Copemish woman who had been in critical condition after a crash in Cleon Township on Sunday has died, according to Michigan State Police.

COPEMISH — A Copemish woman who had been in critical condition after a crash in Cleon Township on Sunday has died, according to a Tuesday morning news release from Michigan State Police.

Cadillac post troopers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Faylor Road near Copemish at about 5:55 pm on Sunday.
Amber Leigh Roussain, 32, was identified as the driver.

“The vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck a mailbox and a tree, and then overturned,” the release reads in part. “Roussain was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City in critical condition and later died from her injuries.”

The news release notes that the cause of the crash is under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
