How the US rules for international travel are changing

More than a year and a half after COVID-19 concerns led the US to close its borders to international travelers from countries like Brazil, China, India, South Africa, the UK and much of Europe, restrictions are shifting to vaccine status.

From Monday, the travel bans from certain countries will be lifted. The US will allow international travelers, but they will need to be vaccinated – with a few exceptions. The USA is also reopening the land borders with Canada and Mexico to vaccinated people.

Your loved ones, family and friends don’t give up hope that Brendan Santo will come home. All of this despite the fact that the teenager has now been missing for over a week.

The search continues for Santo, a Rochester Hills-born Grand Valley State University student who went missing while visiting Michigan State University last week.

COVID in Michigan

Michigan reported 10,094 new cases of COVID-19 and 90 virus-related deaths on Friday – an average of 5,047 cases over two days, the highest daily average since April. Of the 90 deaths announced on Friday, 48 were identified during a record review.

Friday’s update brings the total confirmed COVID cases in Michigan to 1,157,606, including 22,474 deaths. Those numbers are up from 1,147,512 cases and 22,384 deaths on Wednesday.
