Construction work to close the US-127 ramp in Lansing

LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – Starting Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be repairing the concrete barrier and guardrail that was damaged in Lansing in late October. As part of this work, the crews will be making repairs to the US-127 ramp south to I-496 west.

This construction means that the US-127 ramp south to I-496 will be closed to the west. The city administration asks drivers to follow the diversions. Drivers must expect delays and should look for alternative routes during the construction work.

Aaron Jenkins, a representative for MDOT, says the closings will protect both workers and drivers.

“Closing ramps during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest workspace for crews and drivers, and to expedite repairs,” said Jenkins.

The work is expected to be completed on Friday December 10th.
