University of Michigan Announces Graduate Comeback Beginning Ceremony for 2020 Graduates

ANN ARBOR – The University of Michigan will host a comeback commencement ceremony to honor the class of 2020 whose event was canceled due to the then-emerging COVID-19 pandemic.

UM announced that the personal ceremony will be held at Michigan Stadium on May 7th at 1pm, with doors opening at 12pm.

“The beginning is a milestone where graduates, family members and friends meet to celebrate the past and future,” says a UM press release. “The Class of 2020 didn’t experience this important tradition in the way most of them had hoped – in person at Michigan Stadium.

“You waited two years to officially celebrate this important milestone in the Big House. Our goal is to make this day an unforgettable day for our 2020 graduates and everyone who supported them. “

Further details about the event will be published on the event website. Members of the Class of 2020 can visit the website and register for the ceremony.

The regular start of class 2022 is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at 10 a.m. at Michigan Stadium. Doors open at 9 a.m.
