Sara Watkins is hosting the 45th Ann Arbor Folk Festival

ANN ARBOR – The Ark announced Friday morning that folk artist Sara Watkins will be leading the 45th Ann Arbor Folk Festival.

The two-day event is scheduled for January 28th and 29th, and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. each evening

As a violinist and singer, Watkins was a member of the progressive bluegrass band Nickel Creek and most recently performed at the Folk Festival 2019 as part of the acoustic group I’m With Her.

Spectators must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to gain access to the festival. According to University of Michigan guidelines, masks must be worn at all times in the Hill Auditorium.

The annual festival is a fundraiser for The Ark, Ann Arbor’s home to folk, ethno and roots music. The non-profit venue has brought some of the biggest names in folk, Americana, bluegrass, and more to Ann Arbor audiences, and has been at the forefront of the discovery of numerous folk artists for decades.
