The city of Lansing is holding its third annual coat campaign

LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) – The city of Lansing is celebrating its third annual cloak event today. The trip lasts until Wednesday November 10th.

City officials are looking for people to donate new and carefully used coats, hats, gloves and other winter clothing for adults.

With winter just around the corner, the city hopes to complete the drive in mid-November to help those in need keep warm during the cold winter months.

The event is hosted by Mayor Andy Schor and the Department of Human Relations and Community Services of the City of Lansing.

“Winter can be a challenge for many,” said Mayor Schor. “I ask the community members to help those who face these challenges by donating new or carefully used winter coats, hats and gloves. We need to help our neighbors stay safe, healthy and warm this winter season. “
