Rose’s Takeout Restaurant in East Grand Rapids Closed… For Now

For those who love Rose’s Restaurant on Reeds Lake but don’t feel like waiting, there is always the option to go to Rose’s Express, a takeout in East Grand Rapids’ Gaslight Village.

Rose’s Express doesn’t serve the full menu like Rose’s, but foodies can get delicious wood-fired pizzas to take away, as well as Mediterranean and Italian options. Rose’s has closed the place, however, which is supposedly temporary. The unfortunate news was shared on their Facebook page earlier this week, saying it was due to limited staff.

Rose’s is owned by the Gilmore Collection and their website does not list “Rose’s Express” in the restaurant area; although they say this is not a long term decision.

While the news may be a disappointment to those who liked this option, it is good to know that the actual restaurant is nowhere going. So if you ask me, is it worth risking the wait to experience good and good food? Vibrations.

Rose’s Restaurant is located at 550 Lakeside Dr. SE in Grand Rapids.

Three new stores recently opened in the Gaslight District. All are in the wealthy St. SE.

  • Agate & Herb – a small boutique that sells gifts such as candles, jewelry, vases, etc.
  • Bagel Kitchen – Shop for cooked and handmade bagels
  • Fromage – Gourmet boutique and gift shop selling groceries such as cheese, spreads, condiments, wine, etc.

The city celebrated the new local shops with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday.
