East Lansing is looking for local volunteers to serve on boards and commissions
EAST LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – East Lansing City officials are seeking volunteers to serve on their advisory boards and commissions.
The announcement was made on Friday afternoon. Parishioners interested in serving through active civic engagement are encouraged to apply.
City officials said current and upcoming positions must be filled on the following board and commissions:
- Building authority
- Environment Commission
- Executive downtown
- Historic District Commission
- Housing Commission
- Human Rights Commission
- Planning commission
- Transport Commission
- University Student Commission
- Board of Appeal for Zoning
The city said most of the boards and commissions meet monthly and do not require prior experience.
Parishioners are encouraged to apply for a board of directors or commission even if there is no vacancy, as the city administration says applications are archived to fill vacancies as they arise.
