1 inmate, 3 staff members injured in incident at Lansing Correctional Facility, union says

One inmate and three corrections staff members were injured during an incident Friday evening at the Lansing Correctional Facility, according to the union representing corrections officers.The Kansas Organization of State Employees said that at about 7 pm, a fight broke out among several inmates. When corrections staff responded, some inmates began to assault them as well. The union said one inmate was hospitalized. Corrections officers instructed inmates on A Unit to return and remain in their cells. The rest of the prison was fully secured. At 10:25 pm, the union said A Unit was secured and inmates returned to their cells with minimal resistance.The Kansas Department of Corrections has not released any information.
