Traverse City Hosts Voting Sticker Design Contest for Students

Traverse City challenged K-12 students to come up with voting sticker designs.

Students from Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim and Kalkaska counties can take part in the competition. A public vote selects three winners from six finalists.

The winners will each receive $ 100 and will be announced at the Traverse City Commission meeting on Monday, October 11th.

The winning stickers will be distributed at polling stations in Traverse City in November.

“Everyone knows that if they go to a polling station and vote, they’ll get the ‘I voted’ sticker, but a lot of people bring their little ones with them,” said Benjamin Marentette, Traverse City secretary. “There are really unique ways that people have developed logos to inspire civic pride and hopefully future voter participation.”

Here you can view contest designs and cast your vote. Voting ends on Sunday October 10th.
