Free donuts, cider that Bakehouse46 is offering to the first 46 customers for 46 days

ANN ARBOR, MI – A hodgepodge of sweet treats and coffee beverages is now available in downtown Ann Arbor at a store that recently housed the Cupcake Station.

Bakehouse 46, 116 East Liberty St. in Ann Arbor, is a new collaboration between Cupcake Station and Blake Farms with a variety of goodies from both locations. Merchandise on offer includes cupcakes, donuts, cheesecake, ice cream, fudge, and caramel apples. Coffee, breakfast sandwiches, cider, and cider slushies are also available.

A grand opening is planned for Friday, October 22nd.

Blake Farms and Cupcake Station decided to work together after Blake Farms co-owner Andrew Blake served cupcakes from the bakery at his wedding, according to Chelsea Smith, retail development coordinator for Bakehouse46’s Ann Arbor site.

“Cider Mill Donuts definitely seemed to go well,” said Smith.

Although Blake Farms will continue to operate as a separate brand, Cupcake Station will be merged into Bakehouse46, Smith said. The Ann Arbor site is the third site in Michigan after Birmingham and Rochester. Cupcake Station locations in Ferndale and Plymouth will also be converted to Bakehouse46 locations, with additional locations in Novi and Grand Rapids to follow shortly.

By the end of the year, six former cupcake stations will be remodeled at Bakehouse46, with 10 more to open in 2022, Smith said.

To celebrate the site’s opening, Blakehouse46 is offering its first 46 customers a free cider donut and cup of cider every day for 46 days. Coffee will also be available for a dollar by the end of October, Smith said.

In addition to cider donuts, Bakehouse46 also offers special donuts with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruity Pebbles cereals and other flavors. It also serves vegan options, as well as Blake’s pancake mix, jams, and syrups.

The Bakehouse46 locations currently open sell approximately 2,500 donuts and 8,300 cupcakes per week. Smith said that while the Ann Arbor location is “a bit more take-out,” she expects it to outperform other locations.

Bakehouse46 is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. To view the menu or to order online, visit the bakery’s website here.
