Thanks and 500 free turkey boxes to families in Lansing
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.
For many, it’s a time to get together and celebrate. Especially after last year with Covid lockdowns and self-imposed isolation. We’re still not quite out of the woods, but with vaccines and booster shots, things are looking up. You can celebrate the holidays with family gatherings and parties. In the context of common sense and yet safe.
Not everyone is going to have a Happy Thanksgiving
For some people, it still doesn’t turn out to be a fun and festive holiday. It won’t be about bringing the family together because they can’t put food on the table for some.
- In Michigan, 1,299,020 People are hungry – and from them 305.190 are children.
- 1 in 8 people go hungry.
- 1 out of 7 are children. (Feed America)
If you or someone you know is battling this Thanksgiving festival, grocery carton help is free on November 22nd and you don’t even have to get out of your car to get it.
Let’s start with the turkey boxes.
LMTS Community Outreach ServicesLMTS will be handing out 500 turkey boxes on Monday, November 22nd, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the LMTS Center at 1122 W. Holmes Rd. Suite # 3 on Logan Square next to Uhaul.
The fundraiser continues in December with a 2000 gift and gas card giveaway.
LMTS Community Outreach Services LMTS will also be distributing gifts and gas cards in the David Church tabernacle in December 2645 W. Holmes Rd. Lansing, MI.
