Shelbyville uses explosive plays to trounce Detroit 40-12

MARSHALL, Texas (KTRE) – The Shelbyville Dragons improved to 4-2 year-over-year with a 40-12 win over Detroit on Thursday night.

The game, which was played in Marshall, was stopped with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter due to a lightning strike in the area.

Shelbyville took the lead 24-6 at halftime thanks to three big touchdowns from Jakorey Standley. Standley had an 80+ yard quarterback keeper for the first score. On the next drive, he returned an interception for a 39-yard touchdown and shortly before halfway he had a passing touchdown.

In the second half, he added two more points.

The Dragons will be free next week and then face Garrison to open the District Game on October 15th.
