Seven Flint-area teams still pursuing regional softball championships
FLINT – Seven Flint-area softball teams are still in the hunt for regional softball championships and they’re resuming their pursuit Saturday morning.
They include defending Division 2 state champion Owosso.
Here are the regional matchups for area teams.
division 1
At Grand Blanc
June 11 – Traverse City Central vs. Grand Blanc, 10 am; Midland vs Fenton, noon; championship game, 2 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinals at Northwood University vs. winner of Jenison regional.
At Essexville-Garber
June 11 – Essexville-Garber vs. Linden, 10 am; Saginaw Swan Valley vs. Frankenmuth, noon; championship game, 2 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinal at SVSU vs. winner of Detroit Country Day regional
division 2
At Imlay City
June 11 – Detroit Country Day vs. Imlay City, 10 am; Macomb Lutheran North vs St Clair, noon; championship game, 2 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinal at Saginaw Valley State vs. winner of Essexville-Garber regional
At Chelsea
June 11 – Ionia vs Chelsea, 10 am; Jackson Northwest vs Owosso, noon; championship game, 2 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinals at Kalamazoo College vs. winner of Wayland regional
division 3
At Mt Morris
June 11 – Leslie vs. Richmond, 10 am; Laingsburg vs. LakeVille noon; championship game, 2 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinal at SVSU vs. winner of Montrose regional
At Montrose
June 11 – Standish-Sterling vs. Cass City, 11 am; New Lothrop vs Millington, 1pm; championship game, 3 p.m
Winner advances to quarterfinal at SVSU vs. winner of Mt. Morris regional
