Road narrows

MESICK – MDOT will close a lane on the M-115 from September 27th to October 1st. The crews plan to seal the bridge over the Manistee River west of Mesick. During this project, one-lane closures can be expected every day from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Street entry required

TRAVERSE CITY – Downtown Development Authority and the City of Traverse City invite everyone to share their views on the Reimagine East Front Street Initiative from noon to 1:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on September 27 in Minerva’s Boardroom on Park Place. Discuss three possible designs for East Front Street and three scenarios for one-way streets across downtown. A virtual option is available.

Natural art on display

EMPIRE – Four regional artists are exhibiting their “Nature Through Pastels” in the Glen Lake Community Library until October 29th. Meet the artists and learn more about their paintings from September 28th 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the library. Many items are for sale, and 20 percent of the proceeds will go to the library.

Pearl needle course

TRAVERSE CITY – Grand Traverse County canceled its Brownfield Redevelopment Authority meeting on September 30th. The next regular meeting is scheduled for October 28th at the Governmental Center.

MANISTEE – West Shore Community College kicks off its Performing Arts Series 2021-22 at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts on September 30th and October 1st at 7:30 p.m. Le Cirque Espirit presents “Spirit of the Machine”, an acrobatic show. Buy tickets online or call 231-843-5507.

Call for volunteers

TRAVERSE CITY – TCAPS is seeking volunteers for its Sex Education Advisory Committee. TCAPS students, parents, educators, clergymen, and health professionals can join for a three-year term. The group meets once a month from October to May. Members review sex education curriculum and materials in accordance with Public Act 226 and local regulations. Autumn in the museum

PETOSKEY – Little Traverse Historical Museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this fall. The museum closes on October 2nd and plans to reopen for the season in June 2022. Admission is $ 3 for adults; free for children and members.
