Grand Rapids-area man, 27, dead after rollover crash on U.S. 131
REYNOLDS TOWNSHIP, MI – A Comstock Park man was killed early Sunday morning when his vehicle went off the curb and rolled over several times.
Michigan State Police Lakeview Post soldiers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on US 131 north of the M-46 in Montcalm County, Reynolds Township, at 2:29 a.m. on Sunday, September 26.
The 27-year-old driver from Comstock Park died of his injuries, according to a Michigan State Police press release.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 1997 Chevrolet Sport Utility Vehicle was traveling north on US 131 when the vehicle veered off the left side of the lane and overturned several times. The driver and the only occupant were thrown out of the vehicle in the crash and pronounced dead on site. The driver was buckled up, the police said.
The soldiers were supported by Montcalm County EMS, Howard City Fire Department, and Montcalm County Central Dispatch.
The crash is still being investigated.
