Louise A. Sprague, 92 years old, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 26, 2021.
She was born on February 21, 1929 in Pasiano, Italy, to Antonio and Marianna (Piccinin).
Bottos. The family emigrated to the United States in 1930 and settled in Detroit.
Louise was working at Hudson and Chrysler when she met the love of her life, Robert Sprague, through her sorority friends. They were married on June 21, 1952 and had four children before Robert died in a car accident in 1958.
As a single mother of four, Louise made life choices that eventually brought her to Traverse City in 1972, where she worked as a real estate agent for many years.
She loved life, adventure, travel, dancing, and gatherings. She was kind and charitable and always saw the good in people. Family, friends and celebrations gave her a zest for life.
Louise enjoyed traveling to Europe and Australia to visit relatives.
In 2005, for her mother’s 100th birthday, she hosted a large family reunion at her lake house, attended by friends and relatives from around the world, including Italy, Australia and Nova Scotia.
Louise is survived by her children Lu Ann (Van) Fritz, Robert (Randy), Robin and Ralph; Grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Laura, Kiersten (Derek) Graham, Keegan, Evan Fritz; Great-grandchildren, Ryland Swan, Atley Graham; and many nieces, nephews and cousins,
Her parents, Louis and Marianna Maestri, had preceded her death. her husband Robert Sprague; and brother Alfred Maestri.
Louise is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.
A memorial service and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
The family thanks them for all thoughts, prayers and condolences in memory of their lives.
