Ann Arbors Oxford Housing announces 20% growth since 2020

ANN ARBOR – Oxford Companies has reported campus and apartment building portfolio growth of 20% since early 2020.

Led by Katie Vohwinkle, Associate Director of Property Management, the Oxford campus and apartment building team will now manage over 1,000 beds in campus and apartment buildings and work with more Ann Arbor property owners than ever before on maintenance, beautification and operating over 120 properties across the city.

“Even in the difficult 2020, business in Ann Arbor continues,” said Oxford CEO Jeff Hauptman. “Because of the hard work Katie and her team have put into every relationship with property owners across town, we’re pushing our campus and apartment buildings division forward.

“We pride ourselves on having won the trust of so many stakeholders, owners and tenants – this shows in the results the team brings.”

This latest growth spurt in Oxford Housing’s portfolio is largely due to the acquisition of a 70 bed apartment contract from Dennis and Matt Tice on the University of Michigan campus.

The Tices signed a contract with Oxford for full property management services in February 2021 and was pleased with the way Oxford handled the management transition and the attention to detail shown by the Oxford team.

“The Oxford team was exceptional,” said Dennis Tice. “The professionalism, communication skills and attention to detail of the employees have made our changes feel seamless. We feel like we’re working with exactly the right people. “

As Oxford Housing’s portfolio has grown, so has the company’s ability to invest in products and processes that provide tangible benefits to owners, tenants, employees and the community.

Virtual leasing resources, improved renewal processes and negotiated prices for amenities such as higher quality furniture are advantages Oxford has developed as the division has grown. And with the expansion of the portfolio, Oxford Housing has steadily streamlined the letting process (especially with virtual components) and secured a rating of 4.1 / 5 from tenants.

2020 was a particularly challenging year for property management companies and Vohwinkle attributes the success of Oxford to our consistent focus on helping owners cope with the challenges of the pandemic and always looking for win-win scenarios.

“The complications we encountered with the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 were intense,” said Vohwinkle. “We have stayed true to our values - using our security practices to exceed our tenants’ and owners’ expectations, constantly improving our customers’ experience and remaining accountable for the performance of the property.

“We also want to make a powerful impact on this community by carefully maintaining our properties – especially those historic with special needs – so that when visitors come to Ann Arbor or a new family moves in, they see a beautiful town with good looks Living on campus and beyond. If Ann Arbor thrives, we all thrive. “
