LANSING – Do you think you can design the best scarecrow in Lansing? Now is your chance to prove it.

Fox Pointe venue in downtown Lansing is hosting a scarecrow competition open to families, organizations and businesses in the village.

Winners will be announced during Fox Pointe’s Trick or Treat event on October 31st at 2:00 p.m. CET. Lansing businesses and organizations have set up tables to hand out candy and treats, with Halloween music and videos to keep visitors in the spirit of the holiday.

Official village-wide trick-or-treat times are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 31.

The scarecrow competition will award cash prizes of $ 100 for first place, $ 50 for second, and $ 25 for third place.

Residents can pick up a pre-made scarecrow template at Lansing Municipal Center, 3141 Ridge Road, during regular business hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) through October 8th. There is a $ 10 entry fee for pickup.

Finished scarecrows can be dropped off at Fox Pointe on October 9th from 9am to 12pm or on October 15th from 4pm to 7pm. Finished scarecrows are not allowed to be returned to the community center.

The finished scarecrows are exhibited at Fox Pointe. The vote will take place daily from October 20th to 29th from 4pm to 7pm. Halloween music and videos are featured.
