Grand Rapids Week 6 predictions, standings: Who do you like in OK Blue showdowns?
In the OK Blue Conference, two of the 6th week games will be played in the Grand Rapids region on Friday evening.
Unity Christian will visit Spring Lake while West Catholic travels to Coopersville. Two games, four 5-0 teams. It’s going to be wild.
See below which blue teams MLive is taking on along with the rest of the games in the Grand Rapids area.
Caledonia near West Ottawa
East Kentwood in Hudsonville
Grandville in Grand Haven
Rockford at Jensison
Grandville can climb back to the .500 mark if it passes a tough road test in Grand Haven. The 3-2 Bucs are one of West Michigan’s most improved teams after losing 0-7 last year. But I’ll take the Bulldogs, 32-14. Caledonia and Rockford will stay perfect and Hudsonville will defeat East Kentwood at home.
Holland near Muskegon
Reeths buffer at Mona Shores
Wyoming in West Zeeland
Zeeland East near Union
It’s week 6 and Union is going to have a game that will have an impact on the playoffs. When was the last time someone could write that? Union flipped it but the Chix stand 9-0 all the time against Union. Zeeland East 35, Union 20. I also go with Muskegon, Mona Shores and Zeeland West.
|Forest Hills Center||3-0||4-1|
|Grand Rapids Christian||3-0||3-2|
|Forest Hills North||1-2||2-3|
|East Grand Rapids||0-3||1-4|
Forest Hills Central in Grand Rapids Christian
Forest Hills Northern at Byron Center
Lowell in East Grand Rapids
Northview in Greenville
Grand Rapids Christian is on a litter after losing his first two. The Eagles have won three times in a row. But that goes for the Rangers as well, since they lost to Grand Blanc in Week 2, and they have crushed their opponents during their streak by a total of 120-13 points. I’m staying with the Rangers, 37-21. Look for Byron Center to keep up with the Rangers in the race for first place, and I also like Lowell and Northview.
|Forest Hills East||1-2||2-3|
Cedar Springs at Thornapple-Kellogg
Kenowa Hills at South Christian
Ottawa Hills in Forest Hills Eastern
Wayland at Catholic Headquarters
Cedar Springs and Thornapple-Kellogg will compete for the first time in 15 years. I think it’s going well for the Red Hawks. Cedar Springs 36, Thornapple-Kellogg 14. I go with the home teams for the rest of my gold picks, including Catholic Central, Forest Hills Eastern, and South Christian.
Allendale at Holland Christian
Hamilton at Fruitport
Unity Christian at Spring Lake
Western Catholic in Coopersville
There are four undefeated teams at OK Blue, but that number will be cut in half on Friday when Spring Lake Unity receives Christian and Western Catholic visits Coopersville. I say Western Catholic beats Coopersville 31-21. I also take Unity Christian over Spring Lake 44-35.
Comstock Park in Belding
Godwin Heights near Sparta
Hopkins with Calvin Christian
Kelloggsville at Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard
The Panthers have already defeated two of the three reigning Silver Tri champions in Sparta and Hopkins and will try to complete the win in Belding. I’m going with the Black Knights though, and what a jam it’ll be at the top. Belding 34, Comstock Park 28. Sparta and Hopkins will also win silver games, and I like Kelloggsville to win a game without a conference on the go.
Coleman at Saugatuck
NorthPointe Christian at Concord
Trinitarian Christian in Lawrence
Fennville at Bloomingdale
Tri-State Crusaders in Grand Valley Christian
The Fennville Blackhawks heated up after a slow start. Fennville joined the eight-man game that fall and lost its first three games. But the Blackhawks won their last two, and I want them to win another one this weekend. Fennville 34, Bloomingdale 18. I also take Saugatuck, NorthPointe, Lawrence and Grand Valley Christian for wins.
Last week: 23-6
