Grand Rapids Names Practice Field After Legendary Coach Tom Drazenovich

Drazenovich trained and taught at Grand Rapids from 1971 to 2001 and has also been involved in several sports programs, including soccer, athletics, and basketball.

GRAND RAPIDS, Minnesota – Monday night, the Grand Rapids school committee approved that the Thunderhawks training soccer field be named after legendary coach Tom Drazenovich.

From 1971 to 2001 he trained and taught at Grand Rapids. He has also been involved in several sports programs, including soccer, athletics, and basketball. Originally from Naskwauk, Drazenovich has also been credited for starting the weight room and strength program for the Thunderhawks.
