Grand Rapids Catholic Central swimmer makes big splash in Fall Athlete of the Week Poll

Sarah Rott has been a swimmer to watch since she arrived at Grand Rapids Catholic Central a year ago.

Rott finished fifth overall in the 200 yard freestyle and finished ninth in the 50 freestyle at last year’s Division 3 swimming championships.

As a student, she continues to be successful.

MLive.com readers voted Rott the Grand Rapids Fall Athlet of the Week from November 3-9 in a poll that closed Monday night. Rott’s appearances at the OK Rainbow Conference meeting earned their voices. Rott won two freestyle races at the league meeting, taking first place in 53.72 of the 100 free and the 200 in 1: 55.41.

Rott received almost 46 percent of the votes cast in the online poll and landed on 12,456. East Grand Rapids diver Ava Jendritz took a strong second place with 10,506 votes.
