Filming at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, MI – Police were at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor because of a shooting that took place Friday afternoon.
According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, on Friday, April 16, at around 3:20 p.m., the emergency services were referred to as the 100 Briarwood Circle mall for a reported casualty.
The victim was taken to a University of Michigan hospital, where she is in stable condition, police said.
Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and no other reported shooting victims were found, police said.
The police were still there at 4 p.m. on Friday and asked residents to stay away from the area until the situation was resolved.
At 3:56 p.m., the Ann Arbor Police Department tweeted the following:
“Officers are investigating a report of shots fired at the @Briarwood mall. There is NO active shooter at this time and we are asking people to avoid the mall area while the investigation is ongoing. “
