Detroit Lions NFL Schedule Released Wednesday NFL Network

The Detroit Lions schedule will be released this week as part of the Schedule Release ’21 special, which will air Wednesday, May 12th at 8:00 p.m. on the NFL Network, NFL.com, and the NFL app

The schedule release is often a program fans cannot miss due to the annual analysis by division, the breakdown of top matchups, and the revelation of which teams will appear in all prime-time games.

The 2021 NFL season begins Thursday, September 9th, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hosting their first official opponent.

For Detroit, head coach Dan Campbell and Co. are currently preparing for their own conference for six games against division opponents, four games against teams from NFC West, four games against teams from AFC North and two games against teams from the two remaining divisions. The Denver Broncos will be their 17th opponent this season.

During that off-season, the owners approved a schedule for 17 games. Each team will now play in an additional AFC versus NFC game based on the previous season’s division rating and on a rotating division basis.

Teams in the AFC will be the home team for the extra game this season.
