Community Makes Peace Solidarity Meals to Highlight Different Culture Cuisines

5 to ONE Neighborhood Network works with local churches to provide meals to families.

On Wednesday, ward members gathered at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City for their peace solidarity meal.

Each week the food features dishes from a different culture.

This is the second time the Presbyterian Church of Traverse City has offered to prepare the meal.

This week the Church prepared a South African meal for more than 70 families.

Chelsey Brown, Assistant to the Children and Youth Department, says: “Some days it can be busy and difficult to prepare and prepare a meal for you. So it’s nice and fulfilling that people come in and have a meal ready and have some kind of nice reach for the community as well. “

The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City plans to hold another night of solidarity meals in the coming weeks.
