TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan – Claudette Tarr suddenly passed away in Traverse City, Michigan on Tuesday March 9th. Claudette was born on February 11, 1960 in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Urbana. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1978 and worked for F&G Lighting and Sound for many years. In 1989 she moved to San Diego, where she worked in the Santee Municipal Water District and attended San Diego State University. She married Kevin Tarr in 1994 on a boat in San Diego Bay. They enjoyed the California sunshine until they moved to Traverse City in 2004.
She was employed by the 86th Grand Traverse District Court. Claudette was an avid animal lover, and she adored the four dogs she had over the years. She loved gardening and was an excellent cook, often bringing dishes to family gatherings made with fresh ingredients from her garden. Claudette was a wonderfully joyful person, always full of laughter and bubbly. She was fun to be with and she will be missed by those who knew her.
Her parents, Elsworth (Fitz) and Nola Fitzpatrick, died before her. She is survived by husband Kevin Tarr (Traverse City, Michigan) and siblings Daniel Fitzpatrick (Urbana), Flossi Gilbert (Owosso, Michigan), Patricia Fitzpatrick (Bakersfield, Calif.), Joe Fitzpatrick (Neoga), and Bob Fitzpatrick (Bradenton, Florida).
The visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service in Covell-Traverse City Chapel at 232 East State Street in Traverse City.
