ANN ARBOR, MI – Pioneer invited Lincoln to a stormy Friday night football game this week.

When the game started at 7 p.m., dark clouds rolled towards Hollway Field. About three minutes before the end of the first quarter, lightning bolts lit the horizon and the referees stopped the game.

Fans started shuffling from the stands, players gathered in the locker room, and the marching band hid in the school building to wait for the storm.

An hour and a half later, the game was back.

Lincoln dominated the first half and scored 23 points to Pioneers 0. It was only in the fourth quarter that Pioneer was able to put points on the board.

In the final minutes, Pioneer scored their second touchdown of the game, but it wasn’t enough to catch up. Lincoln won with a final score of 37-13.
