Cal Bavineau throws 5 TDs as Dexter Soccer hands Pioneer worst loss in recent history

ANN ARBOR – Dexter has made its mark on many soccer teams over the past few years, and Ann Arbor Pioneer was next in line on Friday night.

The Dreadnaughts were known for offensive explosions and the Pioneers had no answer as Dexter moved forward 55-7 and rolled to a 69-13 win, making the Pioneers their worst loss since their 56-0 win over Muskegon that year 2017 brought.

Not only did Dexter bring Pioneer their worst loss since that game against the Big Reds, but they also scored the most points ever against a Pioneer team, according to Michigan-football.com, which posted Michigan high school soccer results for the year tracked 1966.

Pioneer had never allowed 60 or more points in a game, but that changed with the town’s powerful Dreadnaughts.

Cal Bavineau completed 9-of-11 passes for 241 yards and five touchdowns, while Cole Cabana stormed for 186 yards and three scores.

Braeden Fuson caught six passes for 220 yards and two scores, while Ty Rychener, Brennan Parachek and Wyatt Novara all caught TD passes when Dexter moved to 4-1 and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference Red.

The Dreadnaughts will face Ann Arbor Huron (4-1, 3-1 SEC-Red) next Friday.
