A two-alarm fire in a Detroit scrapyard is ablaze Monday afternoon

A junkyard fire was raging in Detroit on Monday afternoon when firefighters from Hamtramck and Detroit came to Strong Steel Products at 6464 Strong St.

Hamtramck Fire Marshall William Diamond said there were no known injuries from the two-alarm fire as there were no residential or commercial properties in the area.

Diamond said the fire had not been contained as of Monday afternoon. The cause has not yet been determined.
