11th Annual Food For Thanks Event Feeds Over 100 People – CBS Detroit
(CBS DETROIT) – It took more than ingredients to prepare this meal.
The cooks in the kitchen say the secret spice is love.

“It comes straight from our kitchen, you know what I’m saying, ”said Anne Lynn, the event organizer.
“Everything our grandmothers and our mothers did, we’ve done and published here, and we want our community to have the best.”
The 11th annual Food for Thanks Holiday Festival was held at the Artists Village in Detroit.
The organizers provided meals in Metro Detroit to make the day special for those traveling home.
“We’re going to Highland Park, Mt. Clemons, Pontiac, Downriver, ”said Demond Petty, who helped organize dinner.
Over 100 plates were packed and mailed, piled high with Thanksgiving Day favorites.

“We’re delivering to a senior complex in Highland Park, ”said Petty.
“We supply several motels where families live. You are expelled. “
Organizers say it is important to remember those who may not have the resources or family to celebrate the holiday.
“It’s Thanksgiving Day, ”Petty explained.
“People have their own food to cook with, outside families, but only when we do that. We need a few hours for that and then we’ll be back with the family. “
