DETROIT – Here is the Metro Detroit forecast update for December 8, 2021, afternoon and evening.

A few more flakes on Wednesday

There’s still some snow to the west and center of the state, and it’s going in that direction. Everything that falls should be ready around 7 or 8 p.m.
It won’t matter much, but some dusting or slight build-up is possible.

Winter mix later Thursday

It still looks like we’re going to get a rain-snow mix later on Thursday afternoon and evening.
Snow will be north of 59, elsewhere it will be raining.

Rain Friday evening / Saturday morning

A stronger system will bring rain later Friday through Saturday morning.
Given the setup, we can’t rule out a few rumblings of thunder, mainly in the south zone.
Up to one centimeter of rain is possible with this system.
During this time it will also be very windy with gusts of over 45 miles per hour.

A few snowflakes rest Saturday

On the back of the rain, which ends on Saturday morning, a few snowflakes will try to take over the rest of Saturday.

Warm up on the way (2 of them)

The first warm-up comes later on Friday / beginning of Saturday. The high Friday will be just before midnight and the high Saturday will be early in the morning.
The second warm-up comes next week, as we will be in our mid-50s again by Wednesday.
