1 lifeless, 1 injured in gunfire at Washtenaw County’s RV park

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A 26-year-old man from Pittsfield Township was killed in a shootout at an RV park Thursday morning, police said.

According to a press release from the Pittsfield Township Police Department, police were sent to a report of gunfire that hit the 5200 block on West Michigan Ave at 6:11 a.m. on Thursday, November 25th. were fired within the Arbor Meadows Mobile Home Community in Pittsfield Township. A caller also reported that a white Chevy Malibu crashed into a parked vehicle.

The officers found the driver of the Malibu, a 26-year-old man from Pittsfield Township. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police have not yet released the victim’s name until further investigations are completed.

A 30-year-old man from the municipality of Ypsilanti, who was the passenger of the vehicle, was also nearby and, according to the police, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He is being treated at a local hospital.

The investigation continues.

The investigators believe that it was an isolated incident between parties who know each other and “there is no known specific danger to the public,” the statement said.
