1 arrested in shootings during a home invasion in Lansing

Clifton E. Bibbins, 38, of Utica, was arrested last week in connection with a shooting in a home earlier this month in the city of Lansing.
He was taken into custody without incident on Thursday (October 21) by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
The department’s Specialized Response Team (SRT) was deployed to ensure a safe process.
Bibbins participated in an armed robbery at Milton Meadows Apartments on October 14, police said.
A 31-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot and was released from a nearby trauma center; along with minor cuts on the head.
According to the victim, two people immediately overturned him when he opened his apartment door at around 11 p.m.
Bibbins was transferred to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
His charges include:
- 1st degree bodily harm (B crime)
- 1st degree burglary (B capital crime)
- Attempted robbery in the 1st degree (C Felony)
- Criminal possession of a 2nd degree weapon (C Felony).
