Women’s Soccer Falls at Detroit Mercy, 1-0

Detroit, Mich. — The Youngstown State women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Detroit Mercy on Thursday night at Titan Field.

The Penguins fall to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Horizon League play while the Titans improve to 4-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 in league play.

Youngstown State and the Titans fought through 60 scoreless minutes before UDM’s Julie Ann Piechocki scored at the 61:00 mark of the game.

Senior Mackenzie Simon tallied two saves and face nine total shots.

Senior Abriana Rondin led the Penguins with three shots while Abby Knight and Elis Klein Spindola each had two shots.

Youngstown State hosts Milwaukee, Sunday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is set for 1 pm at Farmers National Bank Field.
