Thundershowers expected Thursday in metro Detroit, then a cool weekend

Thursday’s weather forecast calls for thunderstorms in the Detroit subway for most of the day – and then cooler weekend temperatures as we near spring.

The showers are expected around 7 a.m., fall by the afternoon and then subside in the evening, said meteorologist Sara Schultz of the National Weather Service in White Lake. There’s not much to worry about, but there might be a crackle in the sky.

But after that it should be dry.

Expect the high Thursday temperatures to be in your 60s, Friday in your 50s, and weekend in your 40s, which makes it crispy but not too cold. Winds, said Schultz, should be windy.

Schultz said she couldn’t guarantee that the snow and ice were completely behind us.

“It could possibly happen,” she said. “There is always a way. But I hope not.”
