The suspect leads the Lansing police on a chase

LANSING, me. (WILX) – A man was arrested early Sunday morning after jumping into the Grand River to escape police.

Around midnight, Lansing police responded to the 2200 block on North Larch Street about a suspicious vehicle.

The officers tried to contact the driver, who then drove to Dietrich Park.

The driver got out of the car, jumped into the Grand River and was arrested shortly afterwards. He was being treated in a hospital for hypothermia.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
