Temperatures rebound from frosty start this weekend

DETROIT – It’s great to see sunshine on Friday afternoons. However, don’t be fooled. Some of us are heading below freezing to start the weekend.

After the rain subsided, strong northwest winds pushed the cloud cover out of southeast Michigan. That gave us a beautiful looking finish. But it sets the stage for our coldest night of prophecy.

Dry air, clear skies and relaxing winds make for many spots at or below freezing point on Friday evenings. The Metro Zone locations were to remain in the mid-30s. However, check the 4ZONE page to see how cold your garden will get.

While the temperature could hit some scary numbers, it won’t last very long.

Dry air is a double-edged sword in such structures. As quickly as the temperatures drop overnight, they will reach above-average highs on Saturday afternoon. We’ll end the day near 70!

Sunday gets even warmer, with highs in the mid-70s and early mornings in the mid-50s.
