Opening of the Retail Art Gallery in downtown Lansing

A new retail art gallery will open in Lansing on Monday. The Nelson Gallery is located in Liebermann’s former store on South Washington Square.

The gallery is an idea by Jen Estill. She owns the building and the Redhead Design Studio upstairs. According to Estill, the artists involved in the gallery are enthusiastic. “I think they understand the importance of art as a cultural tool to create a great place and a great city and to make people’s lives rich and interesting,” she says. “I know a lot of artists who created pieces specifically for this room and they were inspired by the look and feel of this room, which is exciting too. “

The gallery is named after the designer of the building, George Nelson. “He’s an interesting character because he’s had a very strong influence on the architecture, product design, graphic design and marketing where my other business spends its time,” explains Estill Sinn to us, and that’s how we just started, Nelson to name, and it just fits. “

The Nelson Gallery is open on weekdays from 11am to 7pm and on Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm.
