The search for the next Michigan High School Football Player of the Year took a step forward on Monday when MLive announced the top 10 candidates for the annual statewide award.

Each of the 10 nominees go to the state playoffs and many of them have challenging matchups from the start. Here’s how each of the top 10 candidates fared in the regular season finals and what each of them can expect to open the playoffs.
