Gunmen in Mexico kill family of 5, wound 8-month old baby | Nation/World News

MEXICO CITY (AP) – Gunmen in north central Mexico attacked a home, killing five family members, including a 14-year-old boy, and wounding an 8-month-old baby. Authorities report on Sunday.

Prosecutors in Guanajuato state said the killings took place on Saturday in the town of Apaseo El Grande, where drug gangs fought turf wars.

Three women, a man and a boy, all believed to be related, were found dead.

The baby was taken to hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound on his arm.

A handwritten sign indicating a drug gang was found in the apartment.

In the nearby town of Silao, police said Sunday that they shot three men and a woman in another house. Plastic bags that appeared to be filled with meth were found in the house.
