Frigid with a few flakes flying
Good tuesday morning! Have a good election day. It’s another cool start to Metro Detroit, with temperatures falling into the lower and mid 30s with enough wind to keep the wind in the upper 20s at times, so bundle up. We can also see a few eddies or sprinkles flying around in spots this morning, but the humidity is limited so you don’t have to worry. You need the thicker jacket and hat and gloves again today if you want to be outside a little this morning.
Sunrise is at 8:08 am
We’ll see a decent mix of sun and clouds today, but the highs will have a hard time staying five to 10 degrees below the average for all of Southeast Michigan and Southern Ontario. There’s a faint disorder lack of moisture, which brings in the chances for a few flying flakes and a few afternoon sprinkles here and there. Highs will only hit the mid to maybe upper 40s, and the annoying breeze makes it feel cooler all day. That breeze, with the occasional eddy or drizzle, drives clouds from Lake Michigan in our way, but it doesn’t keep us inside and out of the polling stations on polling day. Do your civic duty with pride and voice!
Sunset is at 6:25 pm
The sky will clear enough by early Wednesday to bring the morning lows into the top 20s to nearly 30 degrees if you start early in the day. We will see a nice mix of sun and clouds, but we will stay under the influence of this cool air until Thursday. Therefore, the highs should be locked on Wednesday in the mid to upper 40’s with lighter winds WNW 5-10mph.
A brief increase in clouds on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning may create a few more flakes or turbulence, but the air remains mostly dry so it’s not much. This dry air keeps the humidity at an absolute minimum all week and we should get some sunshine again on Thursday afternoon, with the highs still nowhere near the average or normal value that was in the mid-1950s in early November.
Friday and Saturday will be nice and bright with wind shifts to the southwest, which should help us get into the low 50s.
Sunday and Monday will be the warmest days with highs in the mid-50s on Sunday and possibly 60 degrees on Monday in Metro Detroit. All of the computer model data suggests our next wet weather concern, which is still a week away.
