TIGER TALK:Toss playoffs out the window, but Detroit Tigers have great chance to make up ground

INJURY UPDATE:Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Garrett Hill to debut; Rony García to 15-day injured list

Tiger’s lineup: TBA.

Game notes: A day before the nation celebrates its birthday, the Tigers and Royals take part in helping celebrate the national pastime. Sunday’s finale will take on a different look as well. The game will not be on a typical network, instead fans will need to head over to Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, for live coverage.

The matchup between the Tigers and Royals is part of MLB’s Sunday Leadoff series where games have an unconventional broadcast feel to them. This one will be no different, as the broadcast crew for this game will be live from various parts of Comerica Park. The Tigers won’t have much time to rest following Sunday, as part of a stretch of 19 games in 17 days. They host a split doubleheader against Cleveland on Monday, with a pair of rookie hurlers, Alex Faedo and Garrett Hill, on the mound.
