Detroit Pistons player Saddiq Bey donates $20,000 to Gleaners and Cesar Chavez Academy

DETROIT, MI (WXYZ) – Saddiq Bey of the Detroit Pistons donated $ 20,000 to Gleaners and the Cesar Chavez Academy in full funding for Cesar Chavez’s mobile pantry for a year.

Bey presented Gleaners Friday with a check for $ 15,500 and the Cesar Chavez Academy with a check for $ 5,000 for school supplies.

“The Detroit community really welcomed me with open arms,” Bey said. “I am honored to be working with Milk Means More and the Pistons to give back to the city and the people who made me feel at home.”

In addition to the donations, Bey and Milk Means More distributed free meals to more than 100 families in need.
