Chuck Lansing was named Headmaster of the Year for Dare County Schools – The Coastland Times

First Flight High School Principal Chuck Lansing has been named Principal of the Year 2021-22 for Dare County Schools.

Lansing is in his third year as an administrator at First Flight High School, having initially served as assistant principal.

The DCS announcement states that when they recommended Lansing’s colleagues for this recognition, Lansing’s colleagues said:

“Chuck did a great job overcoming the challenges we all faced and a few more within his school family over the past year. He is gracious to share his building with the district and the parish. “

“Chuck is an extremely hardworking administrator who is data driven and does what is best for children. He works with others to solve problems that arise. When it comes to brainstorming, he’s a maverick and ready to try something different to escape the status quo. “

“Mr. Lansing is an innovative problem solver and effective communicator. He stays calm, analyzes situations carefully and asks others for assistance in developing the best course of action to solve challenges. Once a decision has been made, he uses various communication platforms to reach out to students, staff and keep community stakeholders informed. He demonstrates his leadership in the way he develops leadership skills in others. “
