Mike worked for Roadway Express (YRC) as a dock worker and switcher for over 30 years. He spent nearly ten years in retirement, giving him more time to spend with his grandchildren, family and friends. He especially enjoyed laughing with Peggy and his brothers at their card parties. He spent countless hours outside working on his lawn. He loved reading and watching the news and could tell you everything that was happening anywhere. Mike rarely missed seeing a Cubs game, a Bears game, or a Nascar race on TV. Mike was an avid stock car racing fan and the biggest supporter of his son Mike, whom he loved to see racing. He enjoyed traveling with Peggy and experiencing new things. In fact, his favorite spot was right next to her. Mike was loved by many and is very much missed.

The family would like to express special thanks to friends and neighbors Scott and Amy Szelinski for the help and care Mike has provided over the past few months. www.schroederlauer.com
