Ann Arbor’s Westside Art Hop is scheduled to take place in June

ANN ARBOR – Westside Art Hop, a neighborhood art fair where artists showcase and sell their work from local porches, garages, and driveways, runs June 12-13.

The biannual event, which takes place in the spring and fall, is a cost-effective way for artists to exhibit their work and sell it to the general public.

Volunteer hosts in two neighborhoods open up their lots to artists who want to settle outdoors for the weekend.

“It’s unusually safe for a pandemic,” wrote organizer Sophie Grillet A4 via email.

Grillet said while the event is expected to be smaller than the 60-plus artists over the past few years, she hopes volunteers will feel safe taking in the artists who choose to attend this year.

With a view to the safety of volunteer hosts, artists and buyers, the Westside Art Hop has a “no masks, no service” policy.

When asked if the event will definitely take place, Grillet said she hoped for the best.
