YMCA hosts family-friendly Ann Arbor Pride Watch Party

ANN ARBOR, me. – Celebrate Ann Arbor Pride with a free Saturday Watch Party hosted by the Ann Arbor YMCA.

Between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., attendees can watch the virtual pride event in the gym of the YMCA branch in downtown Ann Arbor and take part in activities.

There will be mini Zumba classes, crafts, entertainment, freebies, food and drinks, the Y.

“The Ann Arbor YMCA is excited to be an Ann Arbor PRIDE sponsor and to host a free watch party for our community. As a non-profit organization that supports diversity, justice and inclusion, we offered a variety of LGBTQ + welcome programs at Y, such as: Gender embodiment workshops, Out to Swim and an LGBTQ + Family & Friends Intergenerational Dance, “said YMCA- President and CEO Toni Kayumi in a press release.

Ann Arbor Pride began celebrating the area’s LGBTQ + community over 25 years ago. The event went online in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Y’s Watch Party is open to the public, but prior registration is required to attend. RSVP here with the keyword “Pride”.

Participating community members who are not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 must wear masks at the indoor event.

The YMCA branch in downtown Ann Arbor is located at 400 W. Washington Street.
